As the Irish Ambassador to Greece, Serbia, and Albania, Iseult’s brand image represents Ireland and our citizens abroad. Her diplomatic role is to strengthen the good relationships Ireland has with these nations while promoting our interests and values.
This was Iseult’s first post as an Irish Ambassador, having arrived in Athens in the autumn of 2020—the same year as us.

Straight after our photoshoot, the Ambassador was presenting her credentials to President Sakellaropoulou. This gave us a short time window and tight location radius, around the embassy, to work with.

Alongside capturing the cultural ties between Greece and Ireland, I wanted to evoke a sense of majestic power in the embassy team photos. Additionally, we had to ensure everyone was 2.5 meters apart, adhering to the covid restrictions at the time.
Location
Just 400 meters from the embassy lies the palatial Zappeion Hall.
One of Athens’ most renowned modern landmarks. Its classic tall columns provided a powerful backdrop that not only enhanced the grandeur of the photos but also subtly promoted Greece.
Light
The midday sun was high in the sky, playing light against shadow in sharp contrast. My models were hot and squinting, so as soon as the team photos was ‘a wrap’, we moved into the cool shade.
I wanted her profile photos to make a positive statement
I also wanted her photographs to be welcoming, as well as powerful, and yet natural. The soft light between the majestic double columns created a grandiose backdrop for Iseult’s natural, easy pose. Contrasting the light colours in the marble around her, Iseult’s dark hair and clothing means she is in command of the image (and her brand). The deep perspective, where the eye may follow the lines into the garden and the blurred statue of Konstantinos Zappas, makes this image immediately recognisable in European diplomatic circles.
Shot at eye level to emphasise her welcoming nature, with a wide-open lens to highlight her while giving 2/3 of the frame to the location—Greece, her host country—I knew she would appreciate both the warm smile and the more serious expressions.

it’s called speak #truth lies
It’s about figurin out how to get free from stuff that was weighing me down. When I saw how the past impacts our future, I wanted to write down everything I remember from my past.
It turned into a journey of self reflection and healing. It’s written like a novel and it’s a good story about a 50-something woman who travels from Cairo, with her 11 year-old-daughter, to a small island off the coast in Norway. Her father, that she’s been estranged from for 14 years, has just died. What will meet her, when she arrives on the island, to burry her father?
